Beyah!
Funny Stuff. Anyway sorry about the blogging hiatus i just needed a little break. I believe my last blog was about me chasing down the guy who stole my bikes. Well, Lyle decided he would comment on the situation, and i quote:
"I don't mean to dash your hopes Blake, but "they" are too busy hassling Sager for leaving a gas station to be hot on anyone's tail.
Of course if and when I'm proven wrong and you get your bikes back this comment will be stricken from the record and I'll happily eat my words."
Well Lyle, Eat um Up.

So the idiot that stole them decided that the tire was flat when in reality it was tubeless and just needed to be pumped up. The idiot also decided to take this problem to Full Cycle, the one bike shop in town where two of my roommates work and everyone from CU cycling goes. Within a minute of bringing it in the store employees formed a low key barricade around the door and said the bike was mine, called me and i called the cops. When i got there the guy was there and said he was sorry and that he bought it off craigslist. I believed him at first until he said he bought it 2 weeks prior when it was only stolen 4 days ago. Well thats when the cops showed up. The interrogation was simply amusing. The guy was floundering in his own sweat. Not only did he pretty much give away that he had taken my bike but also gave up another bike he had stolen. We proceeded to his house where the cops got a search warrant and found my other bike. The guy was arrested and now has three counts filed against him. Justice! Thanks to everyone who helped out, its really cool to see how tight our little niche is.
In other new I joined Chamois Army Fort in a camping adventure last week up in Winter Park. It was a blast. Ended up riding with JHK and Heather for about an hour in the middle of nowhere. Its a small world!

The riding was really fun, especially since i rode my HT for the first time in eons.

During the trip i was also able to get kiel onto a mtn bike. He suprised the hell out of me shredding the DH even though he said he just about died and crapped his pants. I give him 3 races until he wins a B race this coming season.

Before Kiel left for road nats we decided to give him a haircut. I dont think this it what he had in mind.

Shep going in for the kill.

This weekend i found the motivation and fire to try, in a last ditch effort to qualify for Mt Snow. Well i raced the best race i have raced but didnt quite make the cut. I got 19th, 4 spots shy. Oh well. I was pretty bummed when i got the news but after a late evening ride up flagstaff i have cooled off and moved on. I hope to find some event to race although nothing has really appealed to me just yet. Mt Evans, eh......14,000ft. We'll see. I hope everyone has a great time in VT, race extra hard for me because your racing one of my favorite courses that i dont get to race! We got a new fridge, im happy.

That boy is about as sharp as a cue ball.
Well, yesterday i walked outside only to find this. Apparently I have found the secret to Sheps awesome leg tans. Lately they have been lacking but i guess thats just because he wasnt getting out as much as usual, and i dont mean on the bike.

Daily Happenings
Wow, a lot has happened since the last time i updated. I guess one of the most exciting things to happen was i got a new toy!

Oh yea, 50cc's of pure furry. It only goes about 30-35 but thats all i need in boulder. It kicks ass at 85mpg. Now i have the best of both worlds! Along with riding the scooter, i managed to put in a solid 27hr training week. I think just about every hour of that time was spent enjoying myself. For a change riding has been a blast! I ended up riding up Sunshine Canyon 3 times this week with Rolf.

Apparently it paid off considering he got third only to his teammate Kevin and of course Moniger. Way to go Bud! The Hill Climb was hard, well i didn't do it but it looked hard! The fans were not exactly lining the whole race course but some of the die hards showed up.

Moniger killing it"

It cracks me up, when can you say..." oh yea im just gonna do a little local hill climb" except your local Hill Climb contains people like Moniger, Kevin, Rolf, Jason Donald, Jonathan Garcia, Phill Z.
Anyway, Later we went on a 3hr ride, but this time we started at 9pm. A group of us rode up to Gold Hill by moonlight, and some lights. It was awesome!

Yesterday Leah, Kiel and I went tubing down Boulder Creek. Our tubes were too small, making for a rough decent. Kiel got rallied bye the rocks. I faired pretty well with only minor scrapes.

Well this morning i pulled the trigger on a plane ticket for mid july. However, it wasn't for Vermont. I decided to go do Cascade NRC race in Oregon. It should be killer hard considering all the Cat 2's will be gone at elite nats. We'll see how i fair.
