Merry Xmas!!!!!

Well, Saturday i left Boulder for home to see the fam and friends. However, instead of flying out on thursday i had to fly out saturday. DIA was to say the least the most rediculous, crazy, negatively vibed place I have been in awhile. With two hours lines at the check in counters and 2 hours lines to get trough security, plus the train ride to your terminal, its easy to say that there was a lot of people there, i mean a lot of people. However being the genious that i am, an knowing about the Oversized baggage only check in, i brought my bike. The 2 hour check in line was over in about 5 minutes. One lady tried to give me lip about going underneath the rope, but the lady working at the counter told me "don't listen to them sweety, come over here". With that i looked at the lady chewing me out and smiled. So in short, bringing my bike saved me about 2 hrs, essentially allowing me to make my flight. After i was done checking my luggage i went down to the security line...dun, dun dun...........It was incredible. The security line rapped around the entire terminal twice, and thrice by the time i was going into the actualy swtchbacks of the security line.

However amongst all the angry people, i managed to be in line with the only 2 other happy people in the airport.
This guy
PC220009.JPG

and this guy who was doing what i will be doing in 3 days...going to mexico!
PC220008.JPG

We laughed at how long the line was getting. We were running to catch up with the end of the line since it was forming so damn fast. We actually told people to run the other way to catch the end of the line. The end of the line was marked by the "Security Line" guy.
PC220006.JPG

The line was soooo long you couldnt even see the end down one side of the terminal.
PC220005.JPG

oh, and if anyone reading this lost a bag at DIA, i wouldn't expect it for about a week at best.
PC220011.JPG

Poor guys...
PC220010.JPG

Now after making it through security i was able to board, however this flight was different than most. I flew first class, oh yea. Thank god, because we spent well over an hour in the plane and i was fed well. They really do treat you different up there in the high roller cabin. I was eating 3X as much as those in economy. The reason i flew 1st was because due to the blizzard, every flight to basically anywhere in Tejas was booked, except a first class ticket, thanx mom and dad! and it round trip! so tuesday will have the same luxuries. During the time on the ground, we had to wait for this guy to de-ice our plane.
PC230013.JPG

Then we had to wait in this to take off since they only had one runway open.
PC230014.JPG

However we finally amde it up into the air.
PC230015.JPG

upon my arrival in the lione star i bagged an H2.
PC230016.JPG

What i didnt know at that time was that i had left cold, snowy weather for cold, rainy, windy weather, deffinately worse than what i came from.
PC230017.JPG
PC230019.JPG

Well, although i dont have pics yet, i had a great meal with the family. It supposed to clear up later, probably go for a quick ride. Trying to see friends and family, and ride all in 3 days is kinda tough. Hope everyone out there is having a great time and enjoying their holidays.

Merry Christmas!

Finals are in the bag, now for the fun parts of life

Well, sorry for the lak of updates, i feel like sager. Ill do my best to catch up on the last few days. Um, where to start. Last sunday was my first really cold, long ride. I started this ride off right..
PC170010.JPG
Oh, yea nothing like some blood pouring out the right nostril like niagra falls. Then i stumbled accross this place that brought back some memories.
PC170011.JPG
The rest of the week went kinda like this.....study, sleep, test, ride, sleep, study, study, study some more, test, ride. The first of those rides during the week was with Bryan and his um.....nice socks? He told me he stole them from his mom.
PC160003.JPG
We said hi to our friend betsy.
PC160004.JPG

However, the most exciting ride of the week was Shep, Bryan and I's ride with bob trailers. This winter break is going to be so much fun i can hardly contain myself. With Bryan, Wayn, Sager and I, its going to be Shit Talk Fest '07. What a bunch of mature Americans, this will indeed be a great time.

PC190019.JPG

We decided dirt roads were just not good enough, soooooo we decided to take the bike and trailers out for a test ride at research park. Oh yea.......
PC190023.JPG

In bad news, the higher powers that be decided the last two days would be a good time for a blizard. While I'm all for snow, NOT ON THE DAYS I FLY! now that my flight is cancelled, im flying back on saturday. At least I'll be back for xmas. Home for 3 days then fly back here, grab my stuff and head out to mexico. I'll be riding in shorts, sweating, talkin shit with all my homies and riding my bike, boohoo. Here are some pics of the recent weather..

Sierra Hotel Echo Papa

Yesterday was really nice weather. After class i went on a 2hr cross ride with Shep.
PC140054.JPG

The weather was warm and clear and being on dirt instead of pavement was a nice change in scenery.
PC140053.JPG

Now shep took me on some trails that were just plain wierd. We started down in a valley and somehow rode higher than the valley, however the road we took to get higher than the valley was going the same directions as the water, which last time i checked flows downstream, not up...
PC140055.JPG

This is a view from the top, however we started down in the valley....The whole way up/down? felt downhill but we were getting higher! WTF i was so confused.

After crossing the highway at the top, we found ourselves on smooth singletrack covered in mud mixed with gofer and cow poop...Fun!
PC140056.JPG

But after the mud we found ourselves in winds equivelent to those measured in Park City, you know, the moch 5 winds that force you to lean as you ride.

PC140057.JPG

Today is rediculously warm for Colorado, not to mention its December 15th! i rode to class in shorts and a t shirt! What is this world coming to? Anyway Classes are over with and finals are peaking their ugly head around the corner. The next week will be sleeping, eating, studying and riding...wish me luck.

I'm 20!

Well the Birthday parte was a lot of fun. Not the biggest, but held wth some of my best friends. I noticed that i failed to mention in previous posts that Ben and Tala flew into Denver last friday to see me as well as take some R&R time up in Breck.

Needless to say, my birthday went well, no complications, no ill happenings.
PC090018.JPG

Thanks to Bryan, Shep and Sunshine for helping my birfday to be such a success.

The next morning was spent....uh...recovering. I had a nice brunch with Ben and Tala, proceeded by a nice ride.

Almost my Birfday!

Its almost my birfday, hooray! This is somewhat wierd.."I'm 20"...Am i really?

Well this week has been much different than the past three and half weeks for one simple/big reason...I'm riding my bike again. After taking three weeks off the bike i was becoming so lathargic i just coulnd't wait to get back on the bike. This years training plan will be under the comand of Chann and J. I've already started training for next year and im really excited. Boulder will for sure bring a different training experience than Texas as I have already rode in colder temps than i ever did in TX. I'm already not too fond of the snow, especially when it melts and turns to slush. Since the snow came i can't take the normal roads i took when it was warm out because those roads were remote, and traffic free for the most part;
PC040011.JPG

now i have to rely on the 4 wheel coffins to break up the snow and ice that will for sure take me down faster than a car will.
PC040014.JPG

Yesterday i went and did some climbing. It was deffinately colder up there but the views were prtty cool with the snow.
PC060006.JPG
PC060005.JPG
PC060004.JPG
PC060003.JPG

However, going down was the worst. I was sweaty, and going downhill made it frigedly cold, not to mention the sand they put on the road was like a death trap.
PC060002.JPG

Tonight is going to be a lot of fun! I pick up Ben and Tala who decided to come visit me for my b-day and to come see boulder since Ben is going to be living here sometime late next year. In other news, Bryan is going to sandbag his way to the Cat3 Colorado State Cyclecross Championships. Bryan, upgrade!!!!!!

Trying to get to you and that booty

This weekends happenings...

Well, thus far this weekend i really haven't done a thing that could really be considered constructive, unless you consider doing a few errands. I was watching youtube.com vids and was shown a video that i thought was awesome. Now i know all of you are saying that video is sooo old, well, you can shove it because i haven't seen it and i like it!

On another note, I got a new 80GB video Ipod since mine was absolutely dead. Got a few discounts being a student and giving them my old one. My roommate got his 60GB for $50 more than what i got mine for today, sucks to be him. I recently got my cyclingpeaks software to run right, this program is awesome but will take some time to master i think.

Tonight was our basketball game against UNC, university of Northern Colorado...we were supposed to crush them...well ill let the pictures tell the story:

*note: the period is 2nd, that's a minute left in the game.

PC020002.JPG

Yea, way closer than its supposed to be...

PC020001.JPG

And with 24.5 seconds left...
PC020003.JPG

PC020004.JPG

We won...by the buzzard, literally, with 3 missed shots and a 4th tip to win the game.....We SUCK, however unlike our football team, we can still pull off wins.
