Winter....It has arrived.

The first snow falls i realized were mere teasers. This snow fall came from Jason' neck of the woods . Thats right, Freezing temps, wind chills in the negatives, about 12 inches of snow, accidents everwhere and no one leaving their rooms. Right as i stepped out of the dorms yesterday morning i saw a kid bust his ass walking on the ice.

So, thinking as i do, which isn't always the brightest as im sure you all know, i decided to ride my bike to class.

PB290002.JPG

The ride to class was interesting and fun. Almost busted ass a few times but made it there half safely and for sure faster than ice skating.

Today, the temps were still below freezing but the sunshine made things more bearable.
PB300005.JPG

Needless to say, not many people decided to attend class today, either they were to lazy and didn't want to get cold, but most likey they are all up at the resorts getting their ski on. sigh.....

My roomates prized electronic beach view, fully equiped with sound effects which incluse but not limited to: a sad attempt of a seagal making whatever sound they make, the "waves" crashing...more like nasty static, something else i have no idea what it is....anyhow it took a nasty tumble and well...
PB290003.JPG

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope to never see that thing again!
On a different note, i registered for classes today, next semester needless to say will be much better than this one....Geography here i come!

Good Times

Well I haven't updates since i left for vaction. Austin was great! warm weather, clear skies, seeing mom and dad, the dogs, friends.... the list goes on. Since a lot of friends didn't have as long of a break as i did, I was able to spend a good amount of time with great friends that happen to go to UT.

The first night was a blast as Tala celebrated her b-day a little early with her Austin friends. Scott probably had the best night.

The rest of the week went by so fast that i just didn't get around to taking pictures. The week consisted of seeing as many friends as possible, eating some quality food and getting some awesome sleep. I made the trip back last friday in a valient attempt to study for a midterm that my awesome prof. decided to make for the monday after break! WHAT A NICE GUY! well needless to say it will be my drop after finding out my score today... should have stayed in Austin longer. However, monday i got a package...

now all i need is my rist bands!

Well today has been pretty tame. After going to class i decided to reorganize as boxes and papers have been cluttering up the joint.

First Winter's food cache.

And my personal favorite, my secrete stash:

Tonight its been cold, really cold, and snowing for awhile now. But NOTHING compares or can prepare me for what tomorrow and tomorrow night will bring.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 13. North northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 2. Breezy, with a light wind becoming west between 17 and 20 mph. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Oh boy....

Dungeons of Evil

So i havent updated in a long time, my appologies. Last week i was being a Boulder Whore. This includes Riding my mountain bike, my cross bike, hiking (extreme hiking), going to concerts and being a student. This weekend however was spent doing the norm....being sick. Story of my life lately. I feel i do everything right but for some damn reason i continue to get sick, ooh wait i remember what that reason is. the Dorms!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate them. They are the most vile, discusting, germ contaminated places of evil thought up by the devil himself. My room doesnt seem like its bad,
PB130001.JPG

but "they" come under the door, through other people, through the air that leaks in. "They" cause havok on my life. Well thats my whining for the day.

Back to last week. Monday consisted of some fun cross rides. Tuesday on the other hand was X-treme hiking. Bryan and I rode to the base of the flat irons and as Bryan would say "we rode to the flat irons, looked up, and said, lets go there". Thats just what we did. We were on the trail for about 5 minutes before we started straight up the mountain.

When we got to the top, we played it on the safe side:
PB060009.JPG

the view ffrom the top was pretty cool and well worth the fun.
PB060013.JPG

It started to get dark as we took our time getting down sliding down the mountain:

Bryan is thinking about starting a new career. I told him stick with riding and schooling.

Well, ill update more often now that im not as sick. It not much but thats what it is. Did i mention that i am extatic to go home! Friends and Family, nice bed, and can i be more excited for a home cooked meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well on that note im going to go eat dorm food. mmmmmmmmm, i wonder if they will have pasta....yea, they will.

Hangin In

Sorry for the lack of updates, midterms have been pretty challenging. I've put in some very decent hrs studying and have my last mid term tomorrow. The last round of mid terms I was sick and performed...well, under par. So the pressure is on. Today's early wake up call at 6am was a bit rough. On Thursdays I go from 8am till 2 straight....all science. So I am more than happy today is over.

Ok, enough of that. The other day I woke up early to go with friends on the Tuesday morning cross ride. Technical problems caused us to be late. Did I mention it was 26 "feels like 20" degrees outside. However for some sick weird way it was fun! Since we were late we were on our way to catch the group since we had someone that knew where they go. On the way however we saw a group on cross bikes go by. We ended up tagging along with a "special" group. They were a group of people "in the know" who were going with the race promoters of this weekends race.
PA310003.JPG
apparently there are changes to the course and we were not supposed to know or something super top secret. We found all this out after the fact when we got the "your not welcome" vibe of things. Oh well, rode a lap of the course and then we decided to head out.
PA310005.JPG
I laughed because we decided to leave right at the best moment...
PA310006.JPG
mmmmmmm....water, oh wait! ICE!

So Bryan was too much of a girl and wanted to go home to do homework or something like that. I on the other hand didn't get up for nothing and ended up having a nice cross ride.
PA310007.JPG
The day continued with studying, eating, napping, studying and going to see Sparta!!!!! FYI, Sparta is an awesome band, most likely my favorite. We, Davis and I went to see them at the Bluebird down in Denver. To say the least they are awesome live and I cant wait to see them again.
PB010008.JPG
Sorry for the bad pic, the camera struggled with all the flashing light etc.

Well I hope to see some of you out here for the USGP this weekend. Give me a shout if your in town, and if your desperate you can stay in the dorms, I have an extra futon for anyone who needs it.
